  • From October 1978 to October 1993 we treated 170 patients (125 males and 45 females,age range 13-73 years)with emergency of malignant tumor by Oncologic Emergency Radiation Therapy (OERT).Common emergency of tumor has superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS),organ oppression or intracavity obstruction of tumor, central nervous system oppression of tumor, megalgia of metas-tatia carcinoma of bone or infiltration oppression nervi of carcinoma,spontaneous hemorrhage of sol-id carcinoma,etc.The method and result were reported of OERT.The effective rate was 70-90% of OERT.The principle of OERT were reso lute, accurate,timely, safe and effective.
