Abstract
Pre-operative serium CEA was detected in 418cases of female breast cancer patients using enzyme-linked immumeassays. Patients with normal or abnormal CEA levels were treated with different comkinations of surgery and adjuvant chemotherapeutic regiments based on their TNM staging. The follow-up rate was 100%. χ 2 test indicated that CEA abnormal group had more advanced diseases than the CEA normal group (P0 005). The SPSS Windows 6 0 Log-Rank test showed a very significant difference in survival between the two groups (P0 0001). Cox model regression analysis showed that pre-operative serium CEA, axillary lymph made status and the size of tumor were related with the long-term survival, the appreximate relative risks of which were 0 5441, 1 2520 and 2 1101, respectively. The stude indicates that pre-operative serium CEA may act as a prognosis factor for brest cancer patients.
