Abstract:
Objective To investigate the expression of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK2) in human glioma and its clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemical method and Western blot were employed to detect ERK2 protein expression in 42 case of human glioma tissues and normal brain tissues. Results ERK2 expression was higher in human glioma than that in normal brain tissue (P<0.01). Moreover, ERK2 expression were significantly higher in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ than those in stageⅠandⅡ(P<0.05). Conclusion The overexpression of ERK2 may play an important role in promoting the oncogenesis and development of human glioma.
