Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy: Developments of Surgical Technique and Selection of Optimal Treatment Strategy

Abstract: Abstract:Based on the advantages of less invasiveness, less bleeding and faster recovery, the application of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) is more extensive. LPN technique has been constantly developing and improving. Based on published literatures, this paper will systematically review the technical developments of LPN, analyze and evaluate the indications of different methods. We conclude that the optimal surgical strategy should be based on tumor size, location and blood supply, to make individualized options of the most reasonable surgical approach, vessel occlusion methods, resection and suturing methods.
