TAMOXIFEN THERAPY FOR MASTALGIA A report of 51 patients

  • Mastalgia is a common disiease in femal. During Feb 1986-Feb.1987, 51 patients with mastalgia of more than 6 months duration were entered the trail for treatment with tamoxifen 20-30 mg daily. Pain control was achieved in 41/51(80.4%) of those who recieving tamoxifen. The comminest side effects were vaginal diacharge 9/51(17.6%), hot blushes 4/51(7.8%), exciting 4/51(7.8%),Tamoxifen is of value in the treatment of mastalgia, and relief can be achieved without induce side-effects in the majority of patients.
