175 Patients with Various Carcinomas Whole-body Imaging

  • Whole body bone imaging has been performed in 17d patients with various car cinomas. Positive results were found in 76% of the patients. Among 60 patients who had bone pain, positive rate was 95% when nuclei-imaging was used while positive rate was 75% usiny X-ray exam as diagnostic method, with nuclei imaging, multiple lesions were found in 49 cases and single lesion in 8 cases. Picture of bone imaging and X-ray exam was related with duration of bone pain. It's suggested that nuclei bone imaging was a sensitive and convenient method and had special value for early diagnosis of tumor bone metasteses. The combination of local radiotherapy with chemotherapy was an effective method for pain of bone metastases.
