LYMPH NODE METASTASIS OF PRIMARY OVARIAN CANCER

From 1986 to 1990, retfroperitoneal lymph node dissection was periormed at our Hospital in 44 cases of various types of Ovarian malignancies, thirty (68.18%) were histologically confirmed as cancer of epithelial origin and eight (18.18%) as germ celt tumors, The results indicated that lymphafic metastasis was an exceedingly important route spreading 44 cases under went systemic lymphad-enectomy, 17 were found to have giomdular imvolvement, of which both aortic and Pelvic nodes were posivive was 5 cases, aortic nodes positive but Pelvic negative 3, and Pelvic nodes positive but aortic negative 9. The routes of lymphatic spreading and the significance of lymphadenectomy in Ovarin cancer are discussed.
