LYMPH NODE METASTASIS OF PRIMARY OVARIAN CANCER

  • From 1986 to 1990, retfroperitoneal lymph node dissection was periormed at our Hospital in 44 cases of various types of Ovarian malignancies, thirty (68.18%) were histologically confirmed as cancer of epithelial origin and eight (18.18%) as germ celt tumors, The results indicated that lymphafic metastasis was an exceedingly important route spreading 44 cases under went systemic lymphad-enectomy, 17 were found to have giomdular imvolvement, of which both aortic and Pelvic nodes were posivive was 5 cases, aortic nodes positive but Pelvic negative 3, and Pelvic nodes positive but aortic negative 9. The routes of lymphatic spreading and the significance of lymphadenectomy in Ovarin cancer are discussed.
