ESTROGEN AND PROGESTERONE RECEPTORS IN CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM TUMORS

  • Forty-two neoplasms of central nervous system (10 meningiomas, 15 gliomas, 8 nearofibromas and others 9) were evaluated by progeiterone and estrogen receptors, The incidence of estrogen receptor (ER) in the series was 7.1% (3142) white the positive rate of progesterone receptor (PR)was 60.0% in meningioma, 13.3% in gliomas, 37.5% in neurofibromas and 11.1% in other tamers respectively The incidence of PR in neurofibromas was only Lower than that of meningiomas and meningioma like tumos, the value of PR was also higher than ER.
