IRRADIATION THERAPY OF MALIGNANT LYMPHOMA OF THE NASOPHARYNX—AN ANALYSIS OF 64 CASES

  • Results of radiotherapy of 64 cases of malignant lymphoma of the nasopharynx treated from June 1971 to Aug. 1937 were reported. One-, three-, five-, ten-, and fifteen-year survival rates were 71.9%(64/64), 68.8% (44/64), 57.6% (34/59), 68.8% (11/18) respectively. Factors influencing the result Were mainly: ages; systemic symptoms; clinical stage; the presence of tumor mass at the end of radiotherapy; tumor dose, et al. The principle cause of failure was involvement of other organs, of which abdominal organ predominated. Other cause was recurrance of the primary lesion and 70.6% (12/17) recurrance ocurred recurrance ocurred within one year after radiation.
