THE RESULTS OF 41 CASES ESOPHAGEAL CARCINOMA WITH COMBINATION CHEMOTHERAPY OF CISPLATIN, MITOMYCIN, AND PINGYANGMYCIN

  • From July 1988 to December 1987, 1st Affitiated Hospital of Henan Medical University, forty-one patients with esophageal carcinoma were treated by combination chemotherapy of cisplatin,mitomycin,and pingyangmycin. The treatment results showed that 8 cases (14,6%)of""complete remission, 9 cases (21.9%) of minimal response, 4 cases (9.8%) of stable and 5 cases (12.2%) of progression. The complete and partial remission rate (CR+PR) was 56.1% and the total response rate (CR+PR+MR) 78%.The median survival was 7 months (range 2-32 months).The toxicities seen were anorexia,nausea,vomiting, alopecia, hyperpyraxia, and mid myelodelodepressiof.
