RECTAL CARCINOMA RESECTION WITH SPHINCTER SAVING PROCEDURES A CLINICAL STUDY OF 60 CASES

  • Sixty patients a ndergone rectal carcinom a resection with sphincter-saving procedures are reported. Among them, 24 cases were treated with resect of Dixon, 25 cases with low anterior resection with staplers, 3 cases with resection of welch, while 8 cases with local resection, 5-year survival rates after resection: overall, 75%; Stage I, 91.3%; stage II, 72.73%; stage III, 53.33%.The indication of resection with sp hincter-saving and the practical value of stapler in to wanterior resection are discussed, T he authors also give their own opinions on local resection.
