Abstract
The localizations of CEA, EMA and Col Ⅳ in 66 cases of stomach carcinomas were observed with ABC method to investigate the relation between the expression of CEA,EMA and Col Ⅳ and the differentiation, invasion and metastasis of stomach carcinoma. The results showed there were no CEA and EMA reaction in normal stomach mucosa, Col Ⅳ was localized in the basement membrane of stomach gland. The differentiated type cancer had the stronger ability of EMA and Col Ⅳ synthesis (EMA P<0.05; Col Ⅳ P<0.0l). As the invasion of stomach carcinoma increased, CEA reaction increased apparently (P<0.05), Col Ⅳ reaction decreased apparently (P< 0.0l). The authors considered the difference of CEA,EMA and Col Ⅳ between normal stomach mucosa and stomach carcinoma make it possible to become useful tools in clinically diagnosising stomach carcinoma and determining its differentiated degree. The stomach carcinomas with more CEA and/or less Col Ⅳ invade and metastasis more easily.
