Abstract
In order to study the clinical significance of adjuvant chemotherapy,We randomly divided 235 patients who have received radical operation for gastric cancer into two groups. The combination group consisted of 112 cases who were given adjuvant chemotherapy after the operation,While 123 cases in operative group received radical opertion only. The aggregate 5-year survival rate of the combination group(51.8%) is significantly higher than that of the operative group(30.9%)(p<0.0l).Correalting the disease stages with 5-year survivalrate, stage Ⅱ with combination therapygives significantly higher survival rate than simple radical operation(70.7% VS 41.3%)(p<0.01).Stage Ⅲ with combination therapy is also significantly different from simple radical operation(48.7%VS 26.8%)(p<0.05).While for stage I and stage IV no spch significant difference was observed(p>0.05).Our results indicate that postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy can to various degrees improve late result of radical resection of different stages of gastric cancer.
