The effects of histamine and its receptor antagonists on the growth and metastasis of transplanted Lewis lung cancinoma in C57 BL/6mice

  • Department of Urology, the First Hospital of Hubei Medical College The aim of this work was to study the effects of histamine and its receptor antagonists on the growth and metastasis of transplanted Lewis lung cancinoma(LLC) and the mechanisms were involved. The results are as follow: Both histamine and cimetidine demonstrated an inhibitory effect on the growth and metastasis of transplanted LLC as represented by retatding the initiation of innocoulated LLC, Lowering tumor size and tumour weight, decreasing pulmonary metastatic foci and showing a trend to lower the incidence of metastasis.Treat with histamine and cimetidine gave better results than histamine or cimetidine alone. In contrast,Mepyrmine showed stimulating effect on the growth and metastasis of transplanted LLC Theae results suggest that the anti-tumour mechanism of histamine was due to the effect of H1-receptor
