The Dependence of Female Lung Cancer on Estrogen and Prgestogen Receptor and The Relation Between The Receptors and Prognosis

  • We have used immunohistochemical method(an improved PAP method) to determine estrogen receptor(ER) and progestogen receptor(PR) in 57 female cases with lung cancer tissue, 5 eases with normal lung tissue and 5 cases with lung inflammatory pseudotumor tissue. Result proved that positive rate in female lung cancer tissue with ER and PR were 42.1% and 54. 4% respectively. while no ER and PR in control group. 5-year survival rate of patients with ER and PR positive female lung cancer after operation was higher than those with negative ones(P0.05). 5-yearsurvival rate of ER and PR positive female lung cancer treated by chemotherapy after operation was also higher than those of negative ones(P0.05). The ER and PR expression was not obviously associated with climcal classifications of lung cancer, the type of tissue, the size of tumor, age nor amenorrhea of not(P0.05).
