Abstract
The biopsy specimens of 414 cases who live in the Zan Huang county of Hebei were examined for Helicobacter Pylori (HP) by Warthin-Starry stain. These specimens were taken from gastric mu-cosa in the lesser curvature of pyloric antrum. In this county, the death rate of gastric carcinoma per annum was about 37.8 100, 000.The positive rate of HP was 36.50a" At the same period, we gath-eyed and analysed the data of HP infection from four counties of three provinces.the results show that the regression coefficient (b) is 1.37, the correlation coefficient (r) is 0.9, the standard error (Sx) is 12.7% It is indicated that there is close correlation between the higher incidenoce of gastric carcinoma and the positive rate of HP examined in the various regions. Therefore, the study will give an important clue to the pathogenetic and the development of gastric carcinoma.
