Combined Intraarterial BCNU and Radiation Therapy In Malignant Glioma

  • Twenty-four malignant gliomas have been treated with radiotherapy combined infra-arterial chemotherapy. Radiation was given within seven to ten days after operation. It's total does reached at 50-60 GY each case. The third to fifth day followed the radiotherapy begining, BCNU was infused into infra cer-vical artery(40mg/m2/every 4 weekes for half or one year). X11 the patients had accepted chemotherapy more than four times but one, The total effective rate accounted for 91. 2 percent. Eight patients have lived for more than three years. So that we regard this method for glioma is a simple, safe and effective way.
