Abstract
Neck dissection were widesperead applied for surgical treatment of thyroid carcinoma. Based on the functional neck dissection, which preserve the sternocleidomastoid muscle, the spinal accessory nerve and internal jugular vein, we additional preserve the external jugular, the greater auricular nerve and the coherence of sternocleidomastoid muscle. 107 cases of thyroid carcinoma were treated in this methed, both the neck-shoulder shape and function were good. No recur in follow up. 5 year survival rate were 97. 5%.
