Treatment Results of Keloids by Combined Surgical Excision with Immediate Postoperative Radiotherapy

From May 1991 to Jan 1994，0 patients suffering from keloids were treated by combined surgical excision with immediate postoperative radiotherapy. Either x-ray or high energy electron beam was accepted with 24H postopration. Total doses range from 2000 to 2600 cGy/2~3WK. All patients were followed-up with one recurrence and five apperence hypertrophic scar. It is indicated that immediate postoperative radiotherapy，possessing certain advantages such as shorter course and lower recurrence rate is an effective means for keloid.
