A Correlation Study of Clinicopathologic Factors and Cell Anaplasia in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC) by Stepwise Regression Analyses

  • The influence of 15 clinicopathological factors on NPC anaplasia is analyzed using stepwise regression model in this paper. The most correlated factors affecting NPC anaplasia are screened out under F level of 3. They are 1) the density of vascularization, 2) histologic type (WHO Ⅱ/ Ⅲ), 3) tumour metastasis, 4) the size of tumour (T1 -T4), and 5) the lymphocytic infiltration in nest. These five major factors are including in the regression equation. The mechanism and effects of the five factors on the anaplasia are analyzed in the paper. Therefore we suggest that modification or a new histologic classification with prognostic significance are needed.
