Value or Colonoscopy in Postoperative Care of Colorectal Carcinoma

After being operated on for colorectal carcinona,126 patients underwentfiberoptic colonoscopy.18 cases were detected to have recurrent carcinoma,10 casespolyprimary carcinoma.1 case polyposis and 14 cases polypus.Colonoscopy shouldtherefor be performed in postoperative patients with hematochezia.abdominal pain,diarrhea,abdominal mass and loose stool.The study shows that periodic follow-upsby colonoscopy help to detect recurrent carcinoma,polyprimary carcinoma, polyposisand colipolypus.
