Effects of low dose x-ray on metastasis and growth of tumor in C57bl/6 mice

whole-body exposure of C57BL/6 mice to low dose(12. 5mGY/min)of X-ray6min after the LLC inoculated results in smaller tumors and less spontaneous pulmonary metastatic noduls than are observed in sham-irradiated control mice.Thesimilar Results are found in the mice exposed to 75mGy X-ray prior to the inoculation of LLC. The expermental metastases of LLC. B16M in irradited group also aresignificantly decreased. It suggested that the suppresive effects of low dose irradiation on tumor progression might be via modulation host immune function.
