Pathological Analysis in the Relation with the Expression ER and PR and the Prognosis on the Rectal cancernoma

  • Expression of ER and PR in 61 cases with rectal middle differentiated adenocarcinoma were abserved by immunohistochemistry PAP method on paraffin section. The positive or negative rate of ER/PR were 42. 6% (26/61) or 57. 4% (35/61). The existance of ER/PR indicated that rectal cancernoma tissues possessedthe characteristic of depending upon sexhormone. The middle survival time of ER(+)/PR(+) or ER(-)/PR(-) was 4. 5-year time or 2. 5-year time. The 1,3, 5year survival rate of ER(+)/PR (+)(88. 5 %, 53. 9%, 38. 5%) were significantlyhigher than that of ER (-)/PR (-) (67. 5%, 42. 8%, 28. 6% ) (P0. 01). It isconcluded that the expression ER/PR for rectal cancer patients may be consideredas one of the indicators in the prognosis but in age, sex and LNM.
