Pathological Analysis in the Relation with the Expression ER and PR and the Prognosis on the Rectal cancernoma

Expression of ER and PR in 61 cases with rectal middle differentiated adenocarcinoma were abserved by immunohistochemistry PAP method on paraffin section. The positive or negative rate of ER/PR were 42. 6% (26/61) or 57. 4% (35/61). The existance of ER/PR indicated that rectal cancernoma tissues possessedthe characteristic of depending upon sexhormone. The middle survival time of ER(+)/PR(+) or ER(-)/PR(-) was 4. 5-year time or 2. 5-year time. The 1,3, 5year survival rate of ER(+)/PR (+)(88. 5 %, 53. 9%, 38. 5%) were significantlyhigher than that of ER (-)/PR (-) (67. 5%, 42. 8%, 28. 6% ) (P0. 01). It isconcluded that the expression ER/PR for rectal cancer patients may be consideredas one of the indicators in the prognosis but in age, sex and LNM.
