Study on C-erbB-2 and K-sam Gene Amplification of Bioptic Tissues in Gastric Cancer

The C-erbB-2 and K-sam gene amplitication of bioptic tissues m gastnc cancer of eighty-seven patients were examined by PCR and Southern blot hybridization.Of the eighty-seven cases,eighteen were positive for C-erbB-2 gene amplification.The positive rate was significantly higher in advanced cancers (P<0.05),papillary adenocarcinoma (P<0.05) and differenriated cancers (P<0.05).The C-erbB-2 gene amplification was found more often in cancers with lymph node and liver metastasis(P<0.01 and P < 0.05 respectively).K-sam gene amplification in five cases was only found in poorly differentiated cancers (P<0.05).The method can be probably used to be a factor of prognosis for gastric cancer before surgery.
