Breast Fibroadenoma

Between 1954 and 1990，10316 patients with breast fibroadenoma were treated and proved by pathology，among which intraductal fibroadonoma(3436 cases) made up to 33. 3%，periductal fibroadenoma (2795 cases) 27.1%，mixed type fibroadenoma(3156 cases) 30.6%，lobulated fibroadenoma (526 cases) 5.1%and cystic hyporplastic fibroadenoma (403 cases)3.90o respectively. Ages of patients ranged from 9 to 68 years old.with the modian age of 28 years old.2/3 patients were treated within 2 years after symptom presented.Tumor size ranged from 0.3cm to 24cm，most of which (66.5%)were smaller than 3cm. Solitary tumor was detected in 9228 cases (89.5%)，and two or multiple tumors were detected in 1088 cases (10.5%).Most patients were cured by lumpectomy，while 433 patients (4. 2%)recurred and were cured after resection again. Only 4 cases of carcinoma arising which were intraductal carcinoma were detected among all patients，of which prognosis was good after mastectomy.
