Meningioma in elder patients

A series of 27 cases of meningiomas in the elder patients are reported.The age varied from 60 years(mean 62.7 yrs.).There were 13 males and 14 females.Operation were perfomed in all cases and the operative mortality rate was 11.1%.This paper discussed the incidence, misdiagnosis, long course of disease, the higher incidence of asymptomatic mentingiomas and operative effects in elder patients, and offered some experiences for the diagnosis and treattment of meningioma in elder patients clinicaly.
