Expression of C-myc and P53 in human renal cancer

Using immunohistochemical method, we performed the expression of P53 and C-myc in the normal renal tissues and renal cancer tissues.none of the proteins were expressed in 5 normal renal tissues.The positive rates of P53 and C-myc in renal cancer were 18/45 and 12/45 respectively, and C-myc and P53 proteins were located in nuclei in renal cancer.The expression of C-myc and P53 were associatedwith the stage, grade and survival rates of renal cancer.These results suggest that C-myc and P53 play a role in the development of renal cancer, and become a new marker of progonsis of renal cancer.
