The Effects of Shengmaisan on the Reduction of Chemotherapy-Induced Toxicities

We observed the effects of Shengmaisan in combination with chemotherapy on the reduction of chemotherapy-induced toxicities and on human imm-une functions. Results :While patients were treated at the trial cycle,the chemotherapy induced morbidity of oral mucosal ulcer reduced in com-parison to the control cycle(P>0.05).White blood cell count reduced significantly in control cycle,but not in trial cycle.Changes of celluar immune function:In the trial cycle,CD4 increased,CD8 reduced,and CD4/CD8ratio increased(P<0.01);Conclusion:Shengmaisan in combination with chometherapy can reduce the chemotheray-induced toxicities,improve cellular immune function.
