The expression of proliferative cell nuclear antigen and proliferative cell nuclear antigen in ocular aednxal lymphoid hyplasia and its rela-tionship with histopathologic classification

  • Objective to investigate the expression of proliferative cell nuclear antigen and prolifelative cell nuclear antigen in ocular adnexal lymphoid hrplasia and its relationship with histopathologic classification. Method Using anti-proliferativfe cell nuclear antigen mono-clonal antibody(pc10)and AgNORs method, the proliferative cell in 34 cases of ocular adnexal lymphoid neoplasms(benign lymphoid lesion,BLL,14 cases;atypical lymphoid hyperplasias,AH,9 cases;malignant lymphomas,ML,11 cases)were detected in formalin fixed and paraffinembeded tissuse. Results A significant difference between BLL and AH BLL and ML was observed(PCNAP<0.01,AgNORsP<0.01,P<0.001);sim-ilar result was obse-rved between AH and ML in PCNA index(P<0.01).But there was not a sugnificant difference in AgNORs count(P> 0.05).The linear regression coefficient between PCNA indeX and AgNORs number was excellent(0.8693). Conclusion The two methords may be helpful to distinguish ocular adnexal lymphoid reactive hyplasia and malignant lymphoma. Our study is the first regarding the comparative assessment in ocular adnexal lymphoid hyplasia.
