Expression of bFGF in transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder

In order to further study of the role of bFGF on angiogenesis and tumor cell proliferation in transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder, the expression of bFGF was assayedin 30 cases usingImmunohistochemical techineque. Results showed: 8 cases (26.67%) were positivefor bFGF staining, the rate of positive staining was in correlation with the stage and thegrade of tumors.The intratumor microvessel density and the proliferation cell lable inthe tissues with positive bFGF staining were significantly higher than those with negitive staining.Our results suggested that bFGF can improve angiogenesis and proliferation of tumor cell in transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder.
