Synergistic Effects of Elemene Emulsion and Chemtherapeutic Drugs on Cancer Cell Lines in Vitro

Two cancer cell line, KCC and K562 were used in this study to assess the synergistic effects of Elemene Emulsion and chemotherapeutic drugs (Epirubicin,Fluorouracil).It was found that KCC cell line was resistant to the individual treatment with the allthree drugs, while K562 cell line was more sensitive to the drugs. Elemene Emulsionshowed obvious inhibitation on two cell lines, when conbined respectively with Epirubicin, Fluoruoracil with Epirubicin more obvious. There were significant defferences between the individual treatment group with Elememe Emulsion and synergistic effectsgroup with Elemene Emulsion (PO.05). The results were important to select synergistic drugs with Elemene Emulsion to treat cancers.
