Prognostic Significance of Cath-D in Breast cancer

The expression of Cath-D in stromal cells and cancer cells of 57cases with primarybreast cancer was detected by Immunohistochemical method. Results showed that the staining intensity of Cath-D in stromal cells was higher than that in cancer cells,the differencewas stastistically significant. (P0.01 ) The high expression of Cath-D by stromal cells(butnot by cancer cells)was positively correlated with lymph-node and less - 5 -year survival.In negative lymph-node,include less 4 lymph-node the high expression of Cath-D by stromal cells was negative correlated with 5-year survival. Our study suggest that high expression of Cath-D by stromal cells might be one of prognostic factor,There may be significant toselect high risk population for aimed therapy.
