Abstract
We research the effect of epidermal growth factor(EGF)to 1, 2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH) induce colorectal cancer in wistar rat by animal mutagenic expertment. 60 cases wistar rat divided into 4 groups randomazationly, High EGF+DMH; nature EGF+DMH;low EGF+DMH;single EGF(lug/kg. day), DMH 20mg/week. kg body weight. So. 20weeks continnuiusly. No cancer reveal in 10 weeks;about half of rat produced cancer in 15weeks;there are 67-100% rat reveal colorectal cancer in 20weeks,no rat reveal cancer in single EGF group. The positive rate of cancer, number of cancer in each rat, average volume of every cancer in high EGF group were higher than these in nature EGF group or low EGF group significently(P0.05).This results suggest that:EGF was not a essential factor in the progress, but EGF can enhance the mutagenesis effect of DMH induced colorectal cancer in wistar. EGF was not a carcinogen, but. a promoter of carcinogen in this expertment.
