Abstract
Objective: To observe the relationship between tumor suppressor gene P16 expression and ovarian cancer. Methods: ABC Immunohistochemistry and In sttu hybridizationmethods were used to study the expression of P16 in 72cases of ovarian tumors and normal ovarian tissue. Results: Immunohistochemical results show that the positive rate ofP16 protein in ovarian cancer, benign tumor, borderline tumor and nomal ovarian tissue is 7, 89%, 60.00%. 66.67% and 83.30% respectively. While the oisitive rate of P16mRNA from in situ hybridization in the tissues mentioned above is 21.50%, 70.00%,58.33% and 75.00% reSPectively. The plsitive rate of P16 protein and mRNA in ovarian cancer is significant lower than that in other tumors and normal ovarian tissue. Conclusions: P16is an important tumor suppressor gene, the mutation and deletion of P16 arewell related with the occurence and development of ovarian cancer.
