Expression of P⁵³ protein in hepatollular carcinoma and its surrounding tissues

The expression of P53 protein was examined in 73 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its surrounding tissues with LSAB immunohistochemical technique. The results showed that positive expression of P⁵³ in HCC was significantly higher than that in surrounding tissues, and correlated with histological differentation,P⁵³ positive rate in poor differentation was higher than that in well differentation (P＜0.05 ). In surroun-d-ing tissues, P⁵³ protein expression was only in liver hyperplastic nodule(LHN), not in liver cirrhosis(LC). Suggesting that mutation of P⁵³ gene is frequent and correlated with progression of HCC; LHN is preneoplasia lesions of HCC.
