Effect of Interferon Alpha on Endometrial Adenocarcinoma Cell Line

Objective: To observe effect of interferon alpha on cell growth and cell cycles of human endometrial adenocarcinoma cell line (JEC) established in our laboratory . Methods Effect of cell growth curve and lectin receptors on the cells were detected after incubation with different concentration at 2000u/ml, 500u/ml, 100u/ml of interferon alpha for 7 days, and alteration of cell cycle were analysed using flow cytometry. Results and Conclusion: Interferon alpha can inhibit the proliferation of JEC and the growth of the cells were dose-dependently suppressed. There were no changes in expression of lectin receptors. The cells showed G₁/G₂ and Sincrese, but G₂/M arrest, it was positive correlation between the former and the concentration of interferon alpha, however, the two latters were negative correlation.
