Expression and Significance of p65 and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Squamous Cell Carcinomas of Gingiva

  • Objective To investigate the expression of p65 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in squamous cell carcinomas of gingiva ( GSCC) . Methods SP immunohistochemistry was used to determine the expression of p65 and VEGF in 46 GSCC tissues. Results The positive rate of p65 in GSCC was 63. 04 %, while the positive rate of VEGF was 56. 52 %. p65 was not correlated with pathological stage and lymphatic metastasis, but VEGF was correlated with that p65 was closely correlated with chinical stage ( P < 0. 05) . There was a positive correlation between the expression of p65 and VEGF in GSCC tissues ( P < 0. 05) . Conclusion p65 is associated with VEGF in GSCC, and can serve as a biomarker for the potentialities of invasion and metastasis of GSCC.
