Abstract
Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of mucosa malignant melanoma in the head and neck. Methods Sixty-four cases of mucosa malignant melanoma in the head and neck were retrospectively analyzed.All of the cases were followed up to analyze their prognosis. Results The 5-year survival for patients with surgery therapy was 20% and for patients of combined modality therapy with emphasis on surgery,21%,and for patients who did not received surgery,0. Conclusion Operation is thefirst choice of treatment for mucosa malignant melanoma in the head and neck.Immunohistochemistry can help to make the correct diagnosis.
