Abstract
Objective To compare the survival rate of different cycles chemotherapy for the influence of staging Ⅳa nasopharyngeal. Methods One hundred patient s with staging Ⅳa nasopharyngeal were divided into two group s : treatment group and cont rol group. All patients were given the same radiotherapy (hyperf ractionation radiotherapy, DT : 72~76. 8 Gy) and received chemotherapy of same regimen. Patients in control group received two cycles chemotherapy before and during radiotherapy. Patients in treatment group received four cycles before, during and after radiotherapy. Results The 52year survival rates of treatment group and control group were 50 % and 40 %, disease-free survival rates were 44 % and 38 %, the distance metastasis rates were 46 % and 56 % respectively. Conclusion The survival rates and distance metastasis rates in two groups are no significant difference. Continue chemotherapy after radiotherapy may increase the survival rate.
