Prognostic Factors in Primary Malignant Melanoma of the Oral Mucosa

Objective To study the prognostic factors in malignant melanoma of the oral mucosa. Methods The clinical and pathological data of 35 cases were analysed retrospectively. Results The five-year survival rate was 45% in stage Ⅰ～Ⅱ and 6.7% in stage Ⅲ～Ⅳ(P<0.01);38.9% in the non-nodular melanoma and 14.3% in the nodular melanoma(P<0.01);50% in those withinepithelium and 19.1% in those infringed submucosa(P<0.01);66.7% in the positive of lymphatic metastasis and 22.2% in the negative(P<0.01).
