Radiotherapy of Brain Stem Tumors

Objective To evaluate the treatment results of sixteen brain stem tumors. Methods From 1985-1995,16 patients with brain stem tumor were treated.A total dose of 35~60Gy/4-7 weeks was delivered. Results sympton and sign had improved in 15 cases at the end of radiotherapy.The 1-、3- and 5-year survival rates were 56.2%,43.8% and 31.3%.Literature is reviewed.5-year survival rate is about 20~30% by radiotherapy.
