A Study of DNA Quan titative Measurementon Preoperative Fine-needle Aspiration Smears of Thyroid Lesions

  • Objective To study the relationship between DNA aneuploidy and biological behavior of thyroid tumor cells. Methods The DNA aneuploidy style was studied in 73 patients with thyroid lesions using image cytometery and the specimen was acquired by fine needle aspiration. Results The difference of DNA aneuploidy style between benign and malignant tumor cells was significant. Conclusion The DNA quantitative measurement can provide important information for judgement of biological behavior of thyroid lesions.
