Diagnostic Value of Combined Determination of Serum sIL-2R and CA19-9 in Gastrointestinal Cancers

  • Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of sIL-2R and CA19-9 combinated in serum of gastrointestinal cancer patients. Methods In this study we used the methods of ELISA and RIA to test the serum sIL-2R and CA19-9 of 110 cases which including 50 cases of cancer,30 cases of gastro benign disease and 30 cases of healthy controls. Results The serum levels of sIL-2R, CA19-9 of pre-operation patients of gastrocancer are significant higher than that of gastro benign disease and the controls.But there is no significant difference between the postoperations patients and the others.When the Metastasis is occurred,the serum level of sIL-2R and CA19-9 either pre-opration of post-opration are much higher than that of pre-opration patients without metastasis(P<0.01).The sensitivity of serum sIL-2R is 67.8%.The specificity is 83.3%.When the two methods combined,the sensitivity is 69.8%,and the specificity is 93.7%. Conclusion The methods detecting serum level of sIL-2R and CA19-9 are valuable for diagnoses and the observation of metastasis and occurrence.When the two methods are combined,they are helpful to select and diagnose gastrocancer.But the low sensitivity makes it district to clinical value.
