Expressions of VEGF and MMP-2 in gastric adenocarcinoma and their involvment in tumor invasion and metastasis

Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-2) in gastric carcinoma. Methods The level of VEGF and MMP-2 of 80 in situ specimens and 40 metastatic specimens from patients with gastric cancer were tested with immunohistochemical technology.
