  • Combination bacteriolytic therapy (COBALT) has the potential in cancer therapy. Today, anaerobic bacterium Clostridium novyi-NT enrolled as anticancer agent with the current chemoradiotherapy drug are in the clinical testing stage I. In this paper, we summarize the criteria of an ideal anticancer bacterium and the oncolytic mechanism of C. novyi-NT .
