Abstract
Bladder cancer (BCa) is the common malignant urologic cancer in the world. The reason for easy relapse and metastasis of BCa after surgery could be a failure to eliminate the cancer stem cells (CSCs). How to isolate BCa-CSCs is rather important during investigation. This review summarizes the recent progress of BCa-CSC isolation methods, including stem cell surface markers, side population cells identification, the serum-free medium suspension culture, chemotherapeutics, and other methods which could be referred such as adsorption capacity gradient, in invasion ability differential, fibronectin differential adhesion assay and so on. Currently owing to the shortcomings of these methods, it would be reasonable to learn from other isolating methods to obtain an optimal one for Ba-CSCs isolation.
