Pro-apoptotic Protein Bim in Lung Cancer

  • Bim, a member of Bcl-2 family, contains only a BH3 domain and has pro-apoptotic function. The regulations of Bim include translation and post-translation. Bim plays an important role in cell apoptosis, including both the anti-tuber induced lung cancer cells and tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) induced nonsmall cell lung cancer cells with epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) mutation. The combination of BH3-mimetic drugs, BCL-2 inhibitors and TKIs may overcome the resistant problems caused by Bim. This review aims to summarise the struction and function, mechanism and regulation of Bim, as well as the progression of chemotherapy and TKIs treatment in lung cancers.
