Methods A retrospective analysis of 3671 colorectal cancer patients with complete clinical data from 1995 to 2007 was performed. The prognostic differences among the 7th ed. colorectal cancer staging AJCC and the 5th ed. and the 6th ed. were analyzed by the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the Log rank test. Results The 7th ed. showed better performance in prognosis of colorectal cancer patients which adjusted in T, N and M staging. Conclusion 7th ed. show better performance than 5th ed. and 6th ed., and the further study still be carried out to verify.
