Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the expressions of Notch2 protein in laryngeal carcinoma cells (Hep-2) and the relationship between the expression and the clinical and pathological data in laryngeal carcinoma. Methods The expressions of Notch2 in 95 cases of laryngeal carcinoma tissue and 31 cases of vocal cord polyps,as well as laryngeal carcinoma cells (Hep-2),were detected by QDs-IgG conjugate immunofluorescence staining, and the relationship of the expressions of Notch2 to clinical and pathological features of laryngeal carcinoma was analyzed. Results The expression positive rate of Notch2-positive in laryngeal carcinoma was 92.6%(88/95),and higher than that in vocal cord polyp(32.3%)(P<0.01).Notch2 expression was mainly localized in the nucleus.Notch2 expression in laryngeal carcinoma was significantly associated with clinical stage (P<0.05).The higher clinical stage had higher expression rate.Notch2 expression in laryngeal carcinoma was significantly related to T classification, clinical stage, histological grade and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05).Laryngeal carcinoma cells Hep-2 had the Notch2 expression and mainly was localized in the cytoplasm and enveloped membrane. Conclusion Notch2 played an important role in development of laryngeal carcinoma, and might be a new molecular target for laryngeal carcinoma.
