Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of FRAT1 and its clinical significances in colon cancer tissue. Methods The expression of FRAT1 in 73 cases of colon cancer and normal colon tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry.Western blot and RT-PCR method were used to detect the expression level of FRAT1 protein and mRNA. Results The positive rate of FRAT1 in colon cancer tissues (80.8%) was significantly higher than that in normal tissues (no expression in normal tissues). The expression level was correlated with the degree of differentiation and TNM stage, the lower differentiation degree with the higher expression level, and the higher TNM stage with the higher expression level. Conclusion The expression of FRAT1 was strongly correlated with the genesis and development of colon cancer.FRAT1 may become a potential candidate target of colon cancer gene therapy.
